I liked my first glance at the draft pdf personal plan and was excited to discuss it with my husband. However, when I started reading it more closely, I was disappointed to feel excluded because the first sentence of the Introduction tells me it is targeted at an age range I do not belong to. Of course I can use it anyway, but I think it misses the opportunity to involve more people - at whatever stage of life, but who want to get more involved.
The newsletter directing readers to the philanthropy project was good enough to get "click thru" - but you should either target your newsletter to the age group that the material is targeted to - or don't set up age barriers.
Thank you for leaving the feedback! I agree I should have specifically mentioned that the Personal Philanthropy Plan was drafted to accompany our new young donor community, www.mycoloradoproject.org.
However, the more we work on the project, the more we find that it applies to all people who are looking to focus their giving or get others involved with their favorite charities and causes.
After we get a few more sign-offs to publish the plan, I will be sure to have two versions - one specifically branded and targeted to accompany our young donor program and one that is universal to our community of givers.
Again, thanks for taking the time to point us in the right direction!
Alyssa
